No Kill Date
RCS, INC. INTRODUCES THE COOPER COOLER™ RAPID WINE/BEVERAGE
CHILLING APPLIANCE—12oz CAN “REFRIGERATOR COLD” IN 60 SECONDS OR 750mL WINE BOTTLE IN 6 MINUTES
Hyde Park, NY May 5th , 2003—Revolutionary Cooling Systems, Inc. is proud to announce the introduction of the Cooper Cooler™ rapid wine/beverage chiller at the May 1st -3rd World Wine Market in San Francisco. The Cooper Cooler™ is a household counter-top appliance that is able to chill a 12-16oz canned beverage in one minute, 12-16oz bottled beverage in three and a half minutes, and a 750 mL bottle of wine in six minutes from room temperature (78oF/25oC) to cold refrigerator temperature (43oF/6oC). The patented chilling process of horizontally rotating and spraying ice-water on the beverage allows for even and rapid chilling without disturbing any beverage properties like composition, carbonation, or taste. This rotating motion is perfectly safe for carbonated drinks like beer and soda which will not foam over or explode upon opening. There is a NO SPIN option for chilling delicate wine, here the bottle in not rotated, only sprayed with ice-water.
The Cooper Cooler™ which is 90 times faster than a refrigerator gives the consumer the flexibility to chill beverages to varying temperatures at the touch of a button. Quickly and easily chill wine in one minute to 68°F/20°C or in three minutes to 55°F/13°C since refrigerator temperature can be too cold for certain wines. With added time, it also has the ability to chill drinks like beer and soda down to ice cold 34°F/1°C. The Cooper Cooler™ is the fastest and most versatile rapid wine/beverage chilling appliance available affording consumers the ability to Chill-on-DemandTM warm beverages. By Anonymous Troy, NY May 29, 2004 -- While maverick ice cream maker Ben and Jerry’s is creating a buzz with the newly unveiled prototype of an ice-cream freezer that runs on sound waves, CFIC/Qdrive is quietly supplying the technology that will power these new freezers. However, since the sound is internal to the machine, all you hear on the outside is a slight hum – it is quieter than a conventional freezer. The freezer uses high-intensity sound, much louder than you would encounter at a rock concert or even behind a jet engine. This intense sound is created by a linear motor—a device very much like a souped-up loudspeaker. CFIC/Qdrive of Troy, NY, which makes the widest range of linear motors of any manufacturer, supplied a model 1S102M motor for the new acoustic freezer. The Ben and Jerry’s freezer was recently featured in a recent story on NPR’s All Things Considered (“Ben and Jerry’s Uses Sound to Chill Ice Cream,” http://www.npr.org/features/feature.php?wfId=1861434 , or search NPR site under “thermoacoustics”). In the top photo on the NPR site, the 1S102M motor can be seen inside the thermoacoustic freezer, nestled below the bellows (convoluted metal section). The freezer itself was designed and built by Penn State University scientists, who have long relied on CFIC’s linear motors to drive their acoustic refrigeration research.
CFIC is a closely-held New York corporation established in 1989, with offices in Troy, NY. The company is dedicated to the commercialization of resonant power conversion using its proprietary drives and thermo-acoustic technology. Current products include high-power acoustic drivers and refrigeration and cryocooling systems.
